We aim to create a deeper connection with mother nature - reacquainting a modern generation with ancient wisdom through poetry and art.
After more than twenty years of working with children in a variety of therapeutic settings, Libby has learned the powerful healing benefits of nature for the body, the mind, and the soul. To help children and adults connect more deeply with Mother Earth, she engaged her longtime friend, Los Angeles artist, Renée Fox. Through this fruitful collaboration, Honeysuckle Hugs was born.
This modern classic comes to us at a crucial time, when we spend less time outdoors than any other generation. The impact of this nature deficit is evident in our neurological systems. But, good news! Art, poetry, and nature have been proven to calm the nervous system and promote optimal health.
Honeysuckle Hugs intends to reconnect its readers with the healing benefits of Mother Earth through art and poetry that activates the imagination and reinforces our symbiotic relationship with all life.
Honeysuckle Hugs is an imaginal space, between the visible and the invisible. Delicate drawings take the reader on a one day's journey outdoors as a young girl discovers the unique characteristics of seven plants.
